Haven for Horses
Haven for Horses is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit established in Hesperia, California. Founded in 2013 by Vena Rodriguez, the Haven was envisioned as a way to rescue abused and neglected horses and provide them with loving and healing care. Over the years Haven for Horses has rescued and re-homed hundreds of horses as well as goats, pigs, dogs, donkeys... the list goes on. And we have learned that horses give us just as much if not more healing than we give them. There have been ups and downs, with the difficult losses and heartache that go along with rescuing neglected and mistreated animals, but it has been time and effort well spent and the Rodriguez family is proud to have played such a vital role in the advocacy of the animals they love so much.
Mission
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abused, neglected, auction & slaughter bound horses, as well as provide a place of learning and respite for humans through community engagement and therapeutic equine outreach. We welcome all horses that are in need and all humans that want to help.
Standards
We aim to provide quality care for the animals we rescue including access to nutritious food, clean water, regular exercise and loving interaction with humans. Re-homing our rescues is done with the utmost consideration for the well-being of the animal and entails thorough vetting of potential homes and their families as well as tracking of placed rescues for life.
Nonprofit
Donations and income generated from this website and elsewhere are used for the purposes of maintaining the health and home of the animals at our facility.
